3 spaces left in passport, will I become stranded in Europe during connection through Kiev, Budapest, and Munich?
I am a US citizen currently in Armenia and realized my passport is almost full! I currently have 3 spaces left and I am leaving Sept 1 on two separate flight itineraries:
-
EVN (Yerevan) to KBP (Kiev-20 hr layover) to BUD (Budapest)
-
BUD (Budapest) to MUC (Munich) to ORD (Chicago)
Is there a possibility I get stuck on my return? I would imagine I may get to BUD with no spaces left since Armenia needs to exit stamp me and Ukraine may stamp me as well. If I have a paid return flight to the US would they give me hassle at immigration in Budapest to receive the Schengen stamp?
I checked the US embassy website in Armenia and a passport renewal requires 7-10 business days (two weeks). I plan to talk to them, but would really want to avoid getting stuck in Europe for two weeks.
Side note: as I was checking passport a few countries were courteous with space in my book by stamping over other stamps (thanks Mexico and Peru!), however, I cannot assume this will happen in BUD.
Any thoughts, recommendations, or stories are much appreciated r/travel!
