16 Days in Central-Eastern Europe--Advice?
I’ll be flying with my brother to Budapest in late September for a 16-day trip. Although the general plan is to also see Vienna, Bratislava, and Prague, we have a few questions we’re hoping for advice on:

How much time should we devote to Bratislava? A search of similar topics has a wide degree of variance of opinions ranging from “Skip it altogether” to “I love it there! Plan on several days!”

We’re also wondering whether there are areas in either Hungary or Slovakia that we should be aware of prior to firming up our itinerary. The itinerary is currently rather city heavy, which is fine considering the quality of cities in question, but we’re wondering about suggestions in Hungary or Slovakia that might not make the 14-day Rick Steves-style itinerary (though I generally love RS, mind you).

Finally we’d be happy to hear any other suggestions in the cities listed or elsewhere nearby, with the caveat that the flight is closed-jaw due to a great flight special we found and thus we need to return to Budapest to finish the trip.
