8 Days in Sorrento and Rome, Italy. Tips? [26F]
Hello, friends! I'm going on a solo trip to Italy. I found a $450 roundtrip flight for the first week of June on British Airways that I couldn't pass up.
Here's what I have planned so far:
- 4 nights stay in Meta di Sorrento in a boutique villa hotel, 6/3 - 6/7
- 4 nights stay in Rome in a studio flat Airbnb that's by Giardino degli Aranci, 6/7 - 6/11
- Taking the train from Rome to Naples to get to Sorrento on 6/3.
- Taking the train back to Rome on 6/7.
- I want to go to Pompeii and Capri while I'm down south, but otherwise have no plans.
- I have no plans in Rome other than a few of the must-dos.
What are your suggestions and must-dos in Rome and the Sorrento/Amalfi coast? I've travelled alone before and am very comfortable doing things on my own. My itinerary is pretty open and my budget isn't SUPER HIGH, but I'm down for a few luxuries here and there.
When I went to Amsterdam alone, I went on an awesome bike tour and in Paris I found a few great walking tours. I don't mind touristy things, but I do enjoy doing things a bit more locally and exploring the area like a local would.
Let me know if you have any suggestions, tips, or advice. Cheers!
