Hey everyone!

I searched through previous threads on this topic, and am still unsure on what to do. I have my first (short, two weeks) solo trip to Thailand coming up next month. Flights are booked.

However, I am at a loss for what to do as far as money goes - I've got $2K saved up for this trip. However, I've never used an ATM overseas before, my bank charges really high fees for international withdrawals, and I'm nervous about having my card eaten up by the ATM.

I do not have a credit card.

I was thinking of just taking the $2K in cash and exchanging little by little on arrival. Does this seem like a decent strategy for the first time?

If not, what should I do?
