Lady travelers: Need to pack off-bike clothes for a bicycle tour to South Korea/southern Japan and at a loss – help!
I'm a 37-year old woman going on a month-long self-guided cycle tour of Korea and southern Japan in 2 weeks. This is my second long bicycle tour and I totally failed on properly packing city/off-bike clothes on my first (packed way too much). This time I'd like to keep my packing list lean and mean but am really struggling with what to bring for when I'm not on my bike – walking around cities, going to dinner, sightseeing, etc. Basically I'll need shoes, good for walking and also maybe sort of that can be dressed up, and at least one nice-ish outfit that can be worn in a variety of scenarios, dressed up/down, and not look homeless after a month of being shoved in a pannier. Needs to be comfortable, multi-use, lightweight, interchangeable, and non-wrinkling. Help! To make things worse I have a serious problem where I don't wear flats unless I'm exercising (which I probably need to let go of -- my last bike tour I hauled around heels for 3 months like an idiot in my panniers that were worn a grand total of two times). Packing space is small – front and back panniers that need to accommodate camping + cooking gear as well -- but these will be split with my husband.
