Hello guys. For the past two years, most of my travels were solo, and I've been honestly enjoying the freedom and peace it offered. Last week I met this wonderful person during a work trip and did an impromptu travel of few days. It was a fun and a very different experience considering how long its been since I had travel company. Just want to share the pros and cons I realised from the trip.Travel:-solo: I used to spend my time reading and listening to music, with little to zero interaction with people.accompanied: Mostly talking and in live discussion about things we see and experience. It was fun than I imagined.Planning:-solo: My planning used to be reddit recommendations and my lists on google map. And purely based on budget.accompanied: List and to do experiences expanded. Options out of budget seemed doable.Stay and conveyance:-solo: I preferred hostels and public transport exclusively.accompanied: Hotels, airbnb and private transports became primary options, along with my solo preferences.Food:-solo: Mostly street with just evening dinneraccompanied: Street and restaurantsPacking and safety:-solo: I used to pack light, but bags tend to be bulky. Usually avoided places that felt uncomfortable.accompanied: Shared baggage and more confidence.Exploration:-solo: More time for myself. Used to spend time at a place; sketch and write stupid things, enjoy the sun and view etc.accompanied: less time for myself, shared interests and no sketching writing at all. Also, lots of photos.Budget:-solo: Definitely cheapaccompanied: A little on the higher side, but more comfortable travel.Sorry about this low key write up. I discovered fun outside my travel boundaries after a really long time, and wanted to share. Of course it depends on the person you travel with, and I still think big groups kill the fun. Still, I think its good to explore non solo sometimes as well.Thank you. via /r/solotravel https://ift.tt/2yNowMw
