Hey guys!

I'm travelling to LA in July for the start of an open ended backpacking trip. The only thing I have booked in at the moment is doing the John Muir Trail on the 6th of August. This will take about 27 days. I have a month either side of the walk to explore America before I fly to Europe.

I'm thinking of doing one of the TrekAmerica tours prior to my JMT hike just to make my first month easy leading into my big walk. Has anyone had experience with these and reckon it's a good idea? I tried planning a solo trip but became a pain because its summer holidays and also quite expensive. I think taking a tour like this will ease me into things and I can do DIY travel for the rest of the trip.

In terms of travelling after the walk- does anyone have any suggestions ? I'll be finishing the JMT in San Fran after I commute home and need to make my way to New York to fly to Paris.
