I40 through Oklahoma versus I70 through Kansas - which is the better drive?

I'm trying to decide which route to take for a roadtrip, and I wanted to know which one people prefer. I've driven I70 through Kansas and tbh it was pretty mind numbing. Is I40 through Oklahoma basically the same or is it a more interesting drive? Are there better detours? We're going from Colorado to North Carolina, and I40 would take about 3 hours more driving. However, we have plenty of time so the 3 extra hours isn't really factoring into the decision.

Also if anyone knows any good sights along the way, we've planned plenty of time for detours. We're particularly interested in historical sights. Any recommendations for things to see along the way would be much appreciated :)
