Looking to plan a Thailand solo trip

Hey guys, i'm a total noob when it comes to traveling, I have only flown a few times but I have never traveled alone or been on a holiday for more than a week. I'm a early 20s male who is rather introverted so I thought the best thing to do to try and get out of my comfort zone is to go backpacking for a while. I am looking to travel at the end of the year Nov/Dec.

I am looking to travel to the following places: Bangkok, Krabi, Khao Sok, Chiang Mai. A few things I would like to do includes going to an elephant sanctuary, Watch a Thai boxing match, I also really love food. It is my favorite thing in the world so doing some cooking classes would be fun, as well as eating. Mostly eating. Where are the best places for these?

I have no time limit either so I'm wondering how long I could last around $3000 AUD (2260 USD/ 1660 British Pound) for my budget, that doesn't include flights. I've read places that it can be done anywhere from $1000-$1500/month. How accurate is that now?

I am also looking to stay in hostels as I would like to spend as much time traveling as I can and not worried about cost of accommodation. I'm hoping to meet other people this way too. Being an Aussie with an English accent helps mask my bogan ways so I can befriend normal people. So if you have any recommendations for where to stay it would be much appreciated.

Are there any other places that are worth visiting?Anything you wish you would have done the first time you went? Any advice for a first time solo traveler? I'm sure to have a million other questions about what to take but that can way til later.

Anyways thank you in advance.
