Car choice for round trip from Las Vegas (Zion / Bryce / Canyonlands etc.)
Hey r/roadtrip!
My partner and I are planning a roadtrip for our honeymoon. We have the route all set out - from Vegas we'll be doing a round trip covering Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands and Arches National Parks, then back to Vegas via Monument Valley, Grand Canyon etc.
The last few roadtrips we've been on have necessitated the use of a 4x4. That's fine, but as it's our honeymoon, we wanted to go for something a bit flashier - along the lines of a mustang or camaro convertible. However, we also don't want this to limit us too much.
I know there are a few roads in eg. Canyonlands that are 4x4 only, so I guess my question is, would not having a 4x4 really limit us (ie, are the places requiring a 4x4 to reach so good it's worth changing our car hire choice for)? We'll be going in April, staying a few nights in each place and doing a fair bit of hiking, but nothing too strenuous.
