I've been stranded in Athens for more than a week. It's sorted itself out, and I can leave tomorrow, but I've lost all motivation to travel further. Need some advice on when to admit defeat.

Hi guys.

I've been on my first solo trip since Sept 6th. I've zoomed my way through 12 cities in 7 countries, 14 cities in 8 if you count day trips. I got to Athens on the 11th, and got a call from my bank that night that my credit card details had been stolen and thus the card had been blocked.

This was late at night so I called my parents (I'm just 19 so they look out for me when something goes to hell) to inform them and ask for advice.

Day after, we managed to work it out with the bank that they would send a new card to my home address, and that my parents would scratch the CVC and mail it to my hostel in Greece. This was over a weekend so it only just arrived today, Wednesday. I have to stay until tomorrow to sort my shit out (booking my train/flight/bus whatever and such.)

I understand that these things happen. I do. Sometimes things go to hell (I have a stubborn cold I've had for ~5 weeks now so) and that's okay. It's just that I've lost all motivation I've had to keep going.

I've liked my hectic schedule (2-3 nights in most places) and the amazing people I've met, and the unconventional way I've explored. I've liked the rush of always being on the move. I've settled into a very slow rut here in Athens - a city I don't really like that much - and due to it being off season there are almost no people in the hostel. I've been hanging out with locals which is cool, but I'm getting tired of that too.

I know next place will be better and that exploring more exciting places (more of Balkan is up next) will energize me again, but right now I just feel like booking my flight home.

How can I excite myself again? Should I just power through and force myself out of this?

Advice will be gratefully accepted.

Thanks.
