Hey guys,

I'm going to Italy in about a month for 10 days. I'll be visiting Rome, Florence, Venice and maybe Milan if I get a chance. While I am super excited for the trip, I'm also extremely nervous as this will be my first time travelling alone. Just wanted to know if you guys have any tips for a South Asian solo female traveller in her early 20s. In particular, I wanted to know:

  • What safety precautions should I take when touring the cities? I will be staying in relatively well rated hotels, btw.
  • What kind of preparations should I make in terms of packing? Any must-have items for the trip?
  • What are some hidden gems in those cities that are often overlooked by tourists?
  • What is the best way to commute between the cities? I was looking at Trenitalia, but I saw some people say their trains are not very reliable.
  • Any other tips you may have that can help me out.
