Arriving late at a hostel and general tips to a 1st timer heading to Budapest/Bratislava.

So, after spending another summer mostly working and coming back to university I got fed up with never making reality out of my travelling plans, and in a unusually spontaneous fit I started planning to do a extended weekend solo trip. I'm thinking about going to Budapest in a couple of weeks right after I finish an exam and I have some days off. I'm gonna spend three nights there, take an early bus to Bratislava and spend a night there before heading back to Budapest and the flight home.

Now, the thing is that the flight to Budapest I'm mainly looking at arrives at midnight. After looking up transportations on google maps I'm guessing I won't be at my hostel until 1-2 AM.

The thing is, I've only travelled with my family before, and thus I have no previous experience of booking accommodations etc. According to the pages of the hostels I'm checking out on booking.com, they have 24/7 receptions, and it says that check-ins can be made from 1 or 2 PM, and check-outs can be made until 10 AM. There's no unwritten rule I'm missing? Some of them do have written rules that it's supposed to be silent after 10 or 11 PM. I'm just asking to make sure I don't end up with pissed off hotel personal and other guests in the room at my first night, haha. (Of course I'm not a total dimwit, I understand that I'm not supposed to come barging shouting at that time, but yeah).

I just want to be sure of this before I book my flight tickets and the hostel.

Other than that, I would appreciate all kinds of general tips, both about solo travelling in itself but also about stuff not to miss out on and thoughts about my plans.

My general plans is as follows:

1st day, heading to the chairlift to János Hill and spending a couple of hours there. Then heading back and spend the afternoon walking and checking out the main places on the east side of the river, such as the Parliament, St Stephen's, the Synagogue, the Great Market Hall, Heroes Square and Falk Miksa Street to check out antiques.

2nd day, thinking about firstly taking the bus to Memento Park, and after checking out that going back to check out the places on the west side of the river. Such as the Fisherman's bastion, the Citadel and the Liberty statue, the Buda Castle and Mathias Church.

On the 3rd day, my plan is to get my stuff and take an early bus to Bratislava. Stuff I wanna see there includes the castle and the crown tower, the old town in general, Slavin monument etc and heading up to the UFO tower for the sunset. And on the 4th day taking an early bus back to Budapest and the flight home.

And in the evenings every day, do a bit of pub-crawling. Not getting blind-drunk haha, but yeah, have a couple of beers, chat with locals, visit cool pubs with good atmosphere etc. I'm not a club person and I don't like places that are so loud that you'll have to shout, or really fancy expensive places either, but if you have any tips of pubs I really shouldn't miss, hit me up. Some places I got my eyes on is Szimpla Kert, Csak A Jó Sóró, Kiado Pub, Lampas and in Bratislava Uisce Beatha and Minipivovar Richtár Jakub.

So yeah! Anyone willing to make things clear for me about the hostel thing and all kinds of tips of places not to miss or just general things that's good to know when visiting Budapest and Bratislava for the first time, post away. All posts will be greatly appreciated! :D
