Barisal City Bengali Venice of the East

Barisal is also known as Venice of the East. It has area about 2790.51 km2   .It was the semi-independent place in the Mughal time. Barisal is the biggest river port hub in Bangladesh. The city is also connected by Air. Barisal has lots of tourists attraction due to water ways. Megna River touches the the city and its state. Whereas, Kirtankhola River is the busiest river like Dubai, Arab Sea. The reason is that road connection are no good whereas ship or Air connection is best. The post has ship building company like Italy. Among all District in Bangladesh, West Bengal India had connected during British period. There are many Fort in Barisal which are all based in island specially some remote place which is still not well known now a days. There are many tourists places around the barisal such as Baitul Aman Mosque, Durga Sagar, Oxford Mission Church, Bell's Park aka Bangubandhu Udyan, Muktijoddha Park, Korapur Miah Bari Masjid, Lakhutia Zamindar Bari, Narikel Bagan & Horticulture, Shankar Math, Sher-e-Bangla Museum, Jibananda Das Museum, Bibir Pukur, Padma Pukur (Pond of Lotus), Kali Mandir founded by the Poet Mukunda Das, BadhyaBhumi Monumen,  Bangladesh Rice Research Institute, Town Hall, Bir Sreshtho Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir Library,Sujabad Kella, Sangram Kella,Sharkal Fort, Ebadullah Mosque,Kasai Mosque,one domed Mosque (Kasba), Charkella, Fakir Bari Mosjid and Dapdapia Bridge (Dual River Crossing Bridge).

All in all, Barisal is independent rich economy district with ample amount of non-salt water fishes,house of Betel Leaf, Coconut, rice and so on.
